Happy Easter

In time for the Easter celebration, all the laurel trees are loaded with their spring blossoms. I think they look like lacy candles, the way they perch upright on the branches. Must admit to a bit of subterfuge though. I was going to go outside and take some shots of the blossoms for tonight's post but it's been raining and blowing like the dickens out there. But wait! (Drops eyelids to half-mast and looks furtively about to see if anyone is watching.) Heh -- we just happen to have a shot of last year's blossoms on hand. And here's a coinky-dink -- they look just like this year's blossoms.

So -- I hope it's been a lovely Easter for everyone.

Even if it was raining.

Hope you had a lovely Easter, Dee. Last years Laurel is just beautiful as I'm sure this years is, also.

And you're right - they do look like lacy candles!

Did the bunny leave you any choc eggs?

Your laurel entry has me wreathed in smiles, Dee. Such a subtle chronological subterfuge, and you didn't even have to go to Google Images to purloin a specimen! If you hadn't told us, we couldn't have guessed. You're too honest. I just hope this year's laurel is hardy enough to withstand the Pacific winds.

Kate, glad you like the "candles." They make me feel like spring has finally burst out for real.

Bonnie, no choccy bunnies or even Peeps. My Norwegian Apple pies were quite enough sweet stuff for the occasion.

Bill, believe me when I tell you, that laurel can stand up to anything. It makes a marvelous dense hedge when kept trimmed but once folks let them go, they tower up above two-story roofs and become a thick evergreen wall all by themselves. Amazing trees.
