Happy New Year, Coffee Mates!

Well, here we are. Another year, all wound down and coasting to a stop. Time to snip off the loose ends and tuck everything in and put it away. It was certainly a year full of highs and lows for this sturdy band of Coffee Mates. Some of us welcomed brand new loved ones into the world, some of us suffered grievous losses when loved ones left this world. And everything in between.

So here we gather at this end of the cycle, all ready to open the door and let in the next year. Before 2010 toddles in, though, I just wanted to let you all know I've loved hanging with you this past year and will be very grateful to be able to extend the privilege through the next one. Whether you've spent 2009 up, down or sideways, I have a hug for each of you -- some for celebration, some for consolation, all for friendship. Hugs are healthy. It says so right here.

Oh . . . no matter how late you stay up tonight, I'll have the coffee on for you. (See above.) Special coffee. Magic coffee. Enhanced coffee. (wink, nudge)  See you next year!

Um - 'enhanced' coffee sounds good to me! I was just about to toddle off to make myself a cup of 'enhanced' tea!!! ;) before heading off to bed. (A little Amaretto splashed into a hot mug of tea is simply bliss)!

Happy New Year, Dee! And the same to all the other readers here. It's been wonderful getting to know all of you!

Work for me, tomorrow. So I'll miss the partay...have a good one!

Perhaps this new one will be the year in which you decide to gather up all those wonderful recipes and pictures and commentary and put them into an e-book for the e-dification of a wider audience? Maybe call it "See Dee in the Kitchen"? I'll buy that!

Wish I was joining you for that enhanced coffee, Dee and fellow readers. As it, I'll raise my virtual mug to you all and wish you many good things in the coming year.

This is Peter Macinnis in Sydney, Australia. I have known and corresponded with Dee for the best part of a dozen years. Many people in many parts of the world will find their lives a little poorer for her passing.

Snowy (Deb in Alaska) was so involved in her own sorrowful life recently that she MISSED what was happening with Dee the past few months. I missed an entire person.

How can you miss an entire person? It's easy. I MISS you, Dee. Godspeed.

I've known dee as a friend for nearly 14 years. Her tiny self was a such a huge vat of wisdom on coffee, cats, cooking, and most of all enjoying life. That crazy lady mailed me and my sons a big box of sand and shells one time, to our landlocked home in Indiana, just to give us a laugh and a little of the sea. I will miss her beyond words.

Yes, my condolences also to you and to the rest of Dee's family. She will be missed by a huge number of people who knew her on the Internet for her good humor, her wit, her writing about every day life and about spiritual thoughts, her photographs, and her recipes.

This is impossible to absorb, but I have tears in my eyes. Thank you, Dee, for your love and support. My kitchen utensils are in a ceramic coffee cannister she sent me many years ago. They always will be.

Ah, dear, dear Dee. I've known her for years - every time we drove up or down the Oregon coast, we stopped to have a cup of coffee or a dinner with Dee. She has a very special place in my heart and I will miss her terribly.

I'll miss my link with the Pacific Ocean and many things tasty and good. This is the second Bandon cyberfriend gone. I'll think of her often, especially when I think of funny kitty happenings and her unique inventions of new words and pronunciations, ie coinkydinky for coincidence. kdip
