Free Willy 3

by Gozor

I realized that aquariums were inhumane so last weekend I took my fish outside and threw him up into the sky while yelling, "Fly away, be free!" He didn't fly away at all. He just fell to the ground and squirmed around for a while. I looked at him and said, "Don't you want to be free?" I took him and threw him up again. He still wouldn't fly away. He just fell to the ground at my feet again. Then I realized that he had made his choice. He wanted to stay with me.

He's back in the aquarium now, just like before. But at least now I have the satisfaction of knowing that it was his decision to stay. He seems to be happier now, too, knowing that he got the opportunity to make the choice for himself.

Later I got to thinking about it and I realized that maybe fish do like to be in aquariums. They get free food. They get to hang around all day and don't have to work. They get to watch TV in the evenings. It's a pretty good deal. I'm glad that he decided to stay with me, especially since my bird drowned trying to make up his mind.
