Here are links to several freeware or shareware programs I really like. They all require "at least" Windows95. I'm sure you have tried a few programs that make your computer "strange", I know I have. This page is just trouble-free stuff I like and use, I'm not getting paid for the links. None of this stuff is "ad-ware" or "nag-ware".

Locutus Codeware makes two programs that I like. "MoonPhase" adds an icon showing the current phase of the moon to your System Tray (by the clock). "SocketWatch" is a system tray program that uses your internet connection to set your system's clock. He has several more programs also. Take a look.
"TypeItIn" is a nice little program that fills in the blanks for you. Are you tired of typing your name and address and passwords over and over?
"HTML Validation WiDGet" is part of a set of utilities by the Web Design Group called "WiDGets for IE4". This tool adds an item into IE4's right-click menu called "Validate HTML". Very slick. Free. You can get it at their site, along with several other tools, by clicking on the icon. Works fine in IE 5.5 on my system.
"TClockEx" is short for "TaskBar Clock Enhancement". Another excellent and free program. TClockEx enhances the clock that is built into the Windows 95, 98 and NT taskbar. Now it is possible to see the date as well as the time on the taskbar in one glance, and with any format you like. It has a nice calendar also. Get it!
"CacheSentry" improves your browsing productivity. Have you ever clicked the Back button and the page has to re-load from the beginning? This utility fixes the cache manager of all versions of Internet Explorer. Get your free copy and fix your cache!
"Send To... Any Folder..." is (with the exception of TweakUI) the best of the Power Toys from Microsoft. This utility adds itself to your right-click Send-to list... Really nice. It works for me with Windows95, Windows98, WindowsMe, NT4, and NT5. Download from my site. [15.9 kb]
If installing "Send to... Any Folder..." "breaks" Window's "send to desktop as shortcut" option, get the fix. [967 bytes] (I've yet to need it.)
Do you have problems getting Defrag to run all the way through? "Defrag.reg" may be your answer. Double-click it, let it merge into the Registry and reboot your system. Defrag will run before other programs start and defragment all of your hard drives. You need at least Windows 95 with IE4 installed for it to work. I say that because that's the minimum system I have to test with. Works on Windows98 also. I have it HERE.
Test your connection. Speed Test. Check it out... have fun.
I have a page of Firefox add-ons and tips.
